MARLIES MOZAIEK

Medio 2010 I attended a mosaic workshop with a friend. It was on his wishlist for a long time and he asked me to come along, saying: "maybe this is also something for you". He never could have suspected how right he was about that!

Ever since that day, I discovered that mosaic was and is the way to express myself. When you look at my work, you can see a big part of me, of who I am.

Traveling in Mexico during the 90-ties was a great experience; the explosion of culture and colour, the great variety  in tropical flowers, gigantic butterflies, birds and insects are still an endless source of inspiration.

Working on my mosaic, and seeing a design slowly coming to life is so much fun and it makes me happy. And I hope the people that look at my work can feel that too, putting a smile on their faces.
